Assistant Director Santana Bartoldus is a keyboardist, vocalist, conductor, and board-certified music therapist (MT-BC), active in the Frederick/Baltimore/DC area. Santana holds a Master’s degree in music therapy from Colorado State University, and a BA in music from Yale University, where she studied harpsichord performance with the late Richard Rephann, choral conducting with Jeffrey Douma, and orchestral conducting with Shinik Hahm. She has collaborated as continuo organist and harpsichordist with vocal ensemble Third Practice and the Frederick Camerata.
In addition to her work with the Frederick Chorale, Santana is Associate Music Director at All Saints’ Episcopal Church, Frederick, MD. In her capacity as a music therapist, Santana provides recreational and therapeutic music experiences for residents at Buckingham’s Choice in Adamstown, MD. Originally from Kalamazoo, Michigan, Santana is a happy transplant to downtown Frederick, where she resides with her husband Brian and daughter Magdalena.
