We in the Frederick Chorale would have expected to be counting down the rehearsal
weeks to our spring concert She Will Not Be Denied planned for May 3 and 4. Instead, we
have had to make the decision to postpone this concert. For the safety of our members
and guest instrumentalists and, especially, you, our audience, no other decision would
have been adequate.
Notice, though, that I said “postpone.” That is the good news. With the support of our
director Doug Cox, we have postponed –not cancelled– this intriguing and uplifting
program of music by women composers in commemoration of the cenntenial
celebration of the ratification of the 19 th amendment. Understandably, most of us have
lost sight of that anniversary and other usually noteworthy events. Circumstances
allowing, we will perform this concert in October of this year.
We will do our best to keep you up to date as plans evolve. We beg your understanding
as we all adjust to the unpredictability of these times. Look for future messages via
email, social media and our website. In the meantime, we invite you to visit the website
for samples of past performances at https://frederickchorale.org/listen .
Thank you for your support and appreciation of our music. We wish you good health
and peace. We look forward to seeing you soon.
Linda Myers, President
The Frederick Chorale
